Weight Loss

Many of our customers are looking to lose weight through a nutritional eating plan running alongside exercise. We all know the best way to lose weight is to reduce our calorie intake and increase the amount of exercise we do. Here at BoostFoods, we try to provide the highest quality meats, drinks, bars and snacks to help you achieve this.
A healthy diet should provide us with the right amount of energy to maintain an energy balance. It’s obvious really, but when we consume more calories than we need over a period of time, we experience weight gain. If we use more calories than we consume we lose weight over time.
At BoostFoods, we’re advocates of a healthy approach to weight loss by eating a well balance diet and increasing exercise to achieve a gradual and sustainable weight loss. Losing weight is about changing your lifestyle over the long-term and not about quick fads. If we lose weight gradually, it’s more likely to stay off. According to the ‘Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics’, losing weight too quickly through a severe or strict diet will shed muscle, bone and water instead of fat.
Eating a diet with protein will keep you fuller for longer, help reduce cravings and give you the energy you need to exercise.

Good sources of protein include:
Meat: Beef, chicken, pork, lamb, etc.Protein enriched shakes, drinks, snacks and cereals.Fish and seafood including salmon, trout, shrimp, etc.
If you’re trying to lose weight, you also need to think about the meat cuts you choose:
Poultry, chicken and turkey are a great source of lean protein. Choose skinless, white meat options for the lowest fat content.Pork has very little fat or marbling throughout the meat. Cut away or remove any excess fat for the lowest fat option.Red meat like beef or lamb can also be considered lean - if you're choosing lean cuts. Lower-calorie options or lean meats generally have the name ‘round’ or ‘loin’ in their name eg. ‘top round or tenderloin’.
