Staying Connected

All parents need support, especially if they're single or have no family close by. Don't be afraid to ask for help. You can contact your Child and Family Health Centre, or other services listed.

Joining a new mothers group and/or attending your Child and Family Health Centre are good ways to meet other new parents.

Life can get pretty busy when you are a mum especially when you have the joy of the arrival of a new born. It is important to stay connected and in doing so, mums can support each other, offer advice and share experiences. There are plenty of opportunities where you can get connected at local playgroups and centres.

We have listed a few organisations that you can contact.

Your local library

Your local library can be helpful in providing information about play groups.

Local Churches

Local churches are a good way that you can get connected and you don't need to attend to be involved. Many churches have playgroups that are run on a weekly basis where mums get together and share each other’s company and support.
