We would all agree that one of the most stressful times of the day is around meal time and after a busy day just the thought of having to plan and prepare the evening meal can be the last thing you feel like doing!

A part of looking after you and your family is eating well. So we have included a list of meals that are not only quick and easy but healthy. A must for busy mums.

I have listed a few suggestions and tips that you may like to try for yourself.

By doing this it helps you plan ahead when you do the shopping and this helps with not having to think about meals whilst in the supermarket or on a day to day basis.

2 simple ways to get you through meal time when you are on the run and don’t have time.

  1. Slow cookers a fantastic way to plan ahead. One of the best investments you can make. Search the internet for fantastic slow cooker recipes.
  2. There are many recipes that you can cook a double batch and freeze the second portion for days when you need a backup. We have marked some of those in our easy meal options. Add some steamed greens and your done!

Tips

  • Go shopping every 2-3 weeks. Buy your fresh produce, milk and bread weekly. Saves loads of time. This is actually a cost saving exercise as well – double benefit!
  • Have a list of recipes enough to get you through for 2 weeks that you can rotate. Have the ingredients list handy so you are ready to go. Planning meals is much easier
  • When you plan your meals ahead, go to a butcher every 2-3 weeks, and ask him to put into bags the exact serving size you require of each item. The work’s done, simply throw it in the freezer when you get home.
