Our Story

Julie van EpsWhen I became a mum I realised that raising a family was the most rewarding and enjoyable job in the world.

With that joy came a lot of work and precious time was taken up with a lengthy list of all that needed to be done, including many hours spent in the kitchen cooking and then pureeing vegetables.

So I went out looking in the supermarket for pureed vegetables that were not only tasty and healthy but free from additives and preservatives. I headed straight to the fresh foods in the chiller section only to find out that such a product didn’t exist!

My most disappointing discovery while researching for baby boost™ was the foods claiming to have no 'preservatives' had extraordinary shelf lives, in some cases more than 2 to 3 years. I was surprised, how many nutrients are left after 2 years?

My son has been the inspiration for all the research that I have carried out, and now the way I view and buy food has definitely changed. The foods that were once acceptable to me are no longer acceptable.

The journey began. After searching high and low, I located a food technologist within Australia who shared my passion for healthy and nutritional food for babies. I found a company who I was proud to work with to create a fresh, nutritious and tasty baby food that offers a new direction in the way we view and buy food for our precious little ones.

Fresh vegetables! We only use fresh vegetables that are locally grown. The benefits are huge and in doing so we are maximising the taste and nutritional value of our baby food. It's not just what you end up with, but what you start with that also makes a difference. When we buy products that have imported produce, the vegetables could potentially have been processed two and three times before the end product makes it to the shelf.

We have dispensed with traditional harsh heat preserving processes that compromise on nutrition. Baby Boost™ has a high nutritional content and eliminates the need for cooking at extremely high temperatures to sterilise the food in order to keep it safe for many years. Technology may allow us to be able to achieve a long shelf life for food, but does it compromise on nutrition? We all understand that the longer food is cooked the more we kill off the nutrients. Isn't that why we eat food - not to just fulfill a need in being hungry but to keep healthy and energetic?

As a mum, I share your passion for the health and happiness of your baby. Our philosophy is simple - to provide natural and nutritional choices for our babies, as the best start is a fresh start.
